Smiling and laughter are among the few things you can find in every culture on the face of the earth. That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it?
This make me think that smiling must have a very important function. The smile has been a part of the human race since the beginning. It doesn’t matter where you are from. It doesn’t matter what your native language is. We all know the meaning of a smile. Even babies smile when they are happy.
It’s not something we learn. It’s something we are born with. When you smile to another person, you may very well have changed both your own and that other persons day. Often a smile is all it takes.
Here’s what Wikiepedia says about smiling:
“In physiology, a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can be also around the eyes. Among humans, it’s customarily an expression of pleasure, happiness…
…There is much evidence that smiling is a normal reaction to certain stimuli and occurs regardless of culture.”
Here are some good reasons why you should smile more.
- It makes you feel better about your self.
- It make others feel better about them selves.
- It make others feel better about you.
- It is fantastic as an ice-breaker.
Even a fake smile is better than no smile at all. According to a project I found, most people can’t tell the difference between a real and a fake smile. So if you feel bad, put a big fat smile on your face and make someone elses day a little better. If you do this, your day too will make a u-turn.
Here is a smile from me to you!

Will you leave one for me?
